Wing Chun Instructor Certification Program

 1. All levels require personal training between the candidate and a IWCMAA Certified Instructor. This training includes private lessons at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida. with Master Chan Senior Instructors, Sifu Javier Fernandez, or you can travel to the Main School with Master Chan.

2. Private training includes, but is not limited to, forms, theories, chi sau applications, combat applications, footwork, drills, and exercises appropriate for the testing level. Individuals will also learn how to instruct, formulate lesson plans, explain theory and technique, and get practical experience running classes. Individuals are judged on their technical skill and knowledge along with their ability to explain, teach and their personal character.

3. Each level requires a minimum of 12 hours of personal instruction 3 times a year, or every 4 month in a one year period, at the rate of $60/hour (12 hours x $60 = $720.00). This fee must be paid at the time of scheduling your private lessons. Additional training hours are available upon request. Testing for your level can be scheduled at the time of your third 12 hour training, based on how have you improved and embrace the level that you will be tested for.

4. The IWCMAA does not provide living accomodations. You will be responsible for your own transportation and hotel accommodations during the time of your training. Please reserve your personal training at least six weeks prior to your arrival for personal training at Jaf Wing chun Martial Art Academy Miami , Florida..

Wing Chun Instructor - Level 1

1. You must hold a minimum certification of Mok Jong Level 2 with the IWCMAA and have at least 1 year of Wing Chun training under Master Chan or his Senior instructor SIfu JAf. Ask Sifu Jaf,  how to achieve to this level to start the Instructor program.

2. Study and learn the First Level Instructor Training Course from the International Wing Chun Martial Art Association.

Record a 30 minute video in which you demonstrate your ability to teach an individual beginner who is new to Wing Chun. Covering warm up, theories and applications of Sil Lim Tau. Register for your Level I Instructor Test and send the video to Master Chan for evaluation.

3. Schedule and complete your third training, minimum of 12 hours of personal training at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy or at the main school with Master Chan. Be prepare to demostrate teaching a class.  The Level 1 Instructor Test will be given upon completion of your personal training. A minimum score of 80% is required to be certified as a Level 1 Wing Chun Instructor.

4. Register for testing by paying the $490 test fee. You may schedule your test with Sifu Javier Fernandez at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida, or at the main School with Master Chan.

5. Level 1 Wing Chun Instructors are authorized to certify students for both the Sil Lim Tau and Chum Kiu Levels, under a Senior Instructor recognition.

Wing Chun Instructor - Level 2

1. You must hold a minimum rank of Brown Sash (Lok Dim Boon Gwan) with the IWCMAA and be a certified Level 1 Wing Chun Instructor with the IWCMAA.

2. Study and learn the Second Level Instructor Training Course from the IWCMAA, composed of the Mok Jong Lesson Plans DVD and the Second Level Instructor Manual.

3. Schedule and complete a minimum of 12 hours of personal training at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida. The Level 2 Instructor Test will be given upon completion of your personal training. A minimum score of 80% is required to be certified as a Level 2 Wing Chun Instructor.

4. Register for testing by paying the $490 test fee. You may schedule your test with Sifu Javier Fernandez at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida.

5. Level 2 Wing Chun Instructors are authorized to certify students up to the Rank of Blue Sash (Mok Jong level 2).

Wing Chun Instructor - Level 3

1. You must hold a minimum rank of Black Sash (Biu Gee) with the IWCMAA and be a certified Level 2 Wing Chun Instructor with the IWCMAA.

2. Study and learn the Third Level Instructor Training Course from the IWCMAA, composed of the Lok Dim Boon Gwan Lesson Plans DVD and the Third Level Instructor Manual.

3. Schedule and complete a minimum of 12 hours of personal training at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida. The Level 3 Instructor Test will be given upon completion of your personal training. A minimum score of 80% is required to be certified as a Level 3 Wing Chun Instructor.

4. Register for testing by paying the $490 test fee. You may schedule with Sifu Javier Fernandez at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida.

5. Level 3 Wing Chun Instructors are authorized to certify students up to the Rank of Brown Sash (Lok Dim Boon Gwan).

Wing Chun Senior Instructor - Level 1

1. You must hold a minimum rank of Red Sash (Bak Jom Dao) with the IWCMAA and be a certified Level 3 Wing Chun Instructor with the IWCMAA.

2. Study and learn the First Level Senior Instructor Training Course from the IWCMAA, composed of the Biu Gee Lesson Plans DVD and the First Level Senior Instructor Manual.

3. Schedule and complete a minimum of 12 hours of personal training with Master Chan at the Main School. The Level 1 Senior Instructor Test will be given upon completion of your personal training. A minimum score of 80% is required to be certified as a Level 1 Wing Chun Senior Instructor.

4. Register for testing by paying the $490 test fee. You may schedule your test with Sifu Javier Fernandez at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida.

5. Level 1 Senior Wing Chun Instructors are authorized to certify students up to the Rank of Black Sash (Biu Gee).

Wing Chun Senior Instructor - Level 2

1. You must be a certified Level 1 Wing Chun Senior Instructor with the IWCMAA. Certification for Senior Instructors Level 2 require training with Master Chan at the IWCMA Main School.


2. Study and learn the Second Level Senior Instructor Training Course from the IWCMAA, composed of the Bak Jom Dao Lesson Plans DVD and the Second Level Senior Instructor Manual.

3. Schedule and complete a minimum of 12 hours of personal training with Master Chan at the Main School. The Level 2 Senior Instructor Test will be given upon completion of your personal training. A minimum score of 80% is required to be certified as a Level 2 Wing Chun Senior Instructor.

4. Register for testing by paying the $490 test fee. You may schedule your test with Master Chan at the main school locate at Grand Rapids, Michigan or with Sifu Javier Fernandez at Jaf Wing Chun Martial Art Academy Miami, Florida.

5. Level 2 Senior Wing Chun Instructors are authorized to certify students up to the Rank of Red Sash (Bak Jom Dao).
